Meet Dr. Monish Bhola, DDS, MSD
Dr. Bhola is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and received his D.D.S. from University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and his certificate and M.S.D. in Periodontics and Implantology from Indiana University School of Dentistry. Dr. Bhola is the former Director of Post-Graduate Periodontics and has been practicing Clinical Periodontics and Implant Dentistry for the past seventeen years. His areas of interest include dental implants, oral plastic surgery and advanced bone and soft tissue grafting for teeth and implants. He is the author and developer of the new and innovative LipStaTÂ® procedure for correcting a gummy smile.
Dr. Bhola is a world renowned speaker and educator. He lectures and conducts several training courses in periodontics and implantology for dentists and specialists from all over the world and has several publications in leading dental journals. He is the recipient of the prestigious Bud and Linda Tarrson Fellowship award given by the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation and is a member of the OKU Nu Nu Chapter, a National Honor Dental Society. In his free time Dr. Bhola enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, watching movies and reading.
Meet Dr. Shilpa Kolhatkar, DDS, MDS
Dr. Kolhatkar is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a published author of several original scientific articles in high impact international journals. She earned a D.D.S. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and a Certificate in Periodontics from Indiana University School of Dentistry. She also completed a three-year Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Periodontics and Implantology, from Indiana University. Dr. Kolhatkar has over 16 years of experience in a wide variety of non-surgical and surgical periodontal procedures including oral plastic surgery, soft tissue grafting, placement of dental implants and sinus augmentation. She is the co-author of the LipStaTÂ® technique used in the management of a gummy smile.
Dr. Kolhatkar is a former Clinical Associate Professor at University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry where she taught periodontal and AEGD residents. She has lectured extensively on various topics related to periodontics, implants, advanced surgical procedures, and interdisciplinary treatment modalities. In her free time, Dr. Kolhatkar enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and reading.
Meet Dr.Leyvee Cabanilla Jacobs, DDS, MDS
Dr. Cabanilla Jacobs is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and an Associate Professor at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree from the University of the Philippines (U.P.) and her D.D.S. from the University of Detroit Mercy. Dr. Jacobs has a Certificate and Masterâ€™s Degree in Dentistry from Indiana University School of Dentistry. Dr. Jacobs currently teaches diagnosis, treatment planning and periodontal surgery to dental and dental hygiene students. Dr. Jacobs has lectured extensively at the national and international level and has several publications and abstracts in the field of periodontics and implant dentistry. She has received recognition as an Outstanding Mentor in Periodontics by the American Academy of Periodontology and is a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Nu Nu Chapter, a National Honor Dental Society.
Dr. Jacobs has been practicing periodontics and dental implantology in the Metro Detroit area since 2001. Her free time is spent with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys outdoor activities such as running and biking and has participated in half marathons, trail biking races and triathlons.
