Dr. Cabanilla Jacobs is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and an Associate Professor at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry.
She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree from the University of the Philippines (U.P.) and her D.D.S. from the University of Detroit Mercy. Dr. Jacobs has a Certificate and Master’s Degree in Dentistry from Indiana University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Jacobs currently teaches diagnosis, treatment planning and periodontal surgery to dental and dental hygiene students.
Dr. Jacobs has lectured extensively at the national and international level and has several publications and abstracts in the field of periodontics and implant dentistry.
She has received recognition as an Outstanding Mentor in Periodontics by the American Academy of Periodontology and is a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Nu Nu Chapter, a National Honor Dental Society.
Dr. Jacobs has been practicing periodontics and dental implantology in the Metro Detroit area since 2001. Her free time is spent with her husband and two daughters.
She enjoys outdoor activities such as running and biking and has participated in half marathons, trail biking races and triathlons.
