Dr. Kolhatkar is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a published author of several original scientific articles in high impact international journals.
She earned a D.D.S. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and a Certificate in Periodontics from Indiana University School of Dentistry. She also completed a three-year Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Periodontics and Implantology, from Indiana University.
Dr. Kolhatkar has over 16 years of experience in a wide variety of non-surgical and surgical periodontal procedures including oral plastic surgery, soft tissue grafting, placement of dental implants and sinus augmentation. She is the co-author of the LipStaT® technique used in the management of a gummy smile.
Dr. Kolhatkar is a former Clinical Associate Professor at University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry where she taught periodontally and AEGD residents.
She has lectured extensively on various topics related to periodontics, implants, advanced surgical procedures, and interdisciplinary treatment modalities.
In her free time, Dr. Kolhatkar enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and reading.
